|
Growing up in Lexington, Kentucky, Luke Gutgsellcut his teeth on gymnastics,
horsemanship and musical theater. In 2004, he graduated cum lade from the Ohio State
University with a BFA in Dance Performance. He also attended the Naropa Institute.
Since his arrival in New York, he has performed and apprenticed with the Bill T. Jones
Dance Company and Shen Wei Dance Arts, and trained on scholarship at the Merce Cunningham
Studio. Luke has danced in the companies of JoAnna Mendl Shaw, Tiffany Mills, Jody
Oberfelder, Mishou Zsabo and Chris Elam. He has taught dance to equestrians, NYC high
school students, GLTB youth and elders, and aspiring professional dancers.
